Research questions
- What are the runoff and surface erosion rates associated with the dominant land-cover types present in the volcanic uplands of East Java?
- What are the runoff and sediment production rates associated with footpaths, roads, and built-up areas?
- How much of the sediment generated on the hillsides reaches the stream in different physiographic units (i.e. sediment delivery in young volcanic vs. older volcanic terrain)?
- What are the contributions by gully erosion, bank erosion and mass wasting to overall catchment sediment yield at the meso-scale?
